ranas.ai is a small Calgary studio run by Shaheed Rana. We build Maya, an AI assistant, inside the businesses we run ourselves: our Calgary pawn stores and ZR Auto. Every product we offer, Maya does for us first.
Named after the office dog.
Maya is our office dog, and the name we gave the assistant that runs our businesses every day. She triages the inbox, drafts the replies, sends the reminders, posts the listings, works the eBay offers overnight and writes the daily brief.
We didn’t set out to build a product. We set out to stop drowning in messages at the counter. When it held up there, day after day, we packaged it: Maya VA works a shift at your store, Maya PA runs the owner’s day, and Pawn Portal brings the same rhythm to other pawnbrokers.

Live before it ships
Nothing here is a mockup. If a feature doesn’t hold up at our own counter, it doesn’t reach yours.
You approve, Maya acts
Maya starts by drafting and asking. She earns more freedom only as you trust her, one task at a time.
Always says she’s an AI
Maya never pretends to be a person. Customers know who they’re talking to, and a human is always one step away.
