Who we are

Rana Consulting (“we”, “us”) operates ranas.ai and the Maya Sells consignment service in Calgary, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we handle it, in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

Contact details you give us (name, email, phone number), messages you send through our forms, and — for Maya Sells sellers — details and photos of the items you ask us to sell, your price floor, and payout details for Interac e-transfer. Our seller portal signs you in with a one-time code sent by SMS to the phone number on file.

How we use it

To respond to enquiries, run your consignment (listing, negotiating with buyers, arranging payment and pickup), send you service texts such as sign-in codes, offers and payout confirmations, and keep basic records of completed sales. We only send marketing messages with your consent, and every text tells you who it’s from with a way to opt out (reply STOP), consistent with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Who we share it with

Service providers that make the service run: our website host, SMS provider, and payment rails (Interac e-transfer through our bank). Buyers see your item’s listing — never your name, address or contact details. We do not sell personal information.

Retention & security

We keep consignment records as long as needed for tax and dispute purposes, then delete or anonymize them. Data is stored on secured, access-controlled systems.

Your rights
